The anointing has to do with the power of the Holy Spirit. Some people can operate in their callings and their giftings and be successful in this world, but only those that are anointed can operate in the calling and the gifting with the power of the Holy Spirit.

The anointing is given by God. He is the only who chooses who to anoint.
